The Cooperativa Virgen de Loreto was founded on February 8, 1961, in the town of Umbrete, by a large group of farmers from this municipality of Seville's Aljarafe and other neighboring towns of the region such as Benacaz\u00f3n, Espartinas, Villanueva del Ariscal and Bollullos de the Mitaci\u00f3n among others.<\/p>\n

In its beginnings, it had a very important winery section, in addition to table olives, but due to the start of the vineyard in the region, it was left without activity and currently only olives are processed.<\/p>\n

Its first facilities were within the urban area of Umbrete, at the exit of the Benacaz\u00f3n Highway. After successive extensions, in 2008 we proceeded to move to new facilities located on the same road, but at kilometer 2.7. For this transfer we had the collaboration of the Umbrete City Council, the project was subsidized by the Ministry of Agriculture.<\/p>\n

At present, the cooperative has 112 members, coming from practically all the municipalities of Aljarafe, with its olive farms of the Manzanilla and Gordal varieties located in this region. An approximate set of some 700 hectares of cultivation, predominantly small plots, widely distributed throughout the territory.<\/p>\n

During all processes, a traceability program is maintained for all products, with special interest in surveillance, control and sanitary hygiene systems.<\/p>\n

The cooperative's staff is made up of permanent and permanent-discontinuous workers, with extensive experience and skills in their duties, reaching more than 20 hires in season.<\/p>\n
